Scorpion on a stick - Christmas tree ornament

Did you know that scorpions can hold their breath for three days and not eat for a year? A miniature version of this incredibly resilient creature can be attached to a Christmas tree branch with a clip, and used as an interior decoration all year round. Also a great gift for anyone born between October 23rd and November 22nd.

The production of glass bead ornaments is a traditional craft of the Czech Republic. The ornament was handmade in Poniklá in the Krkonoše Mountains. The glass beads are silver-plated on the inside with real silver.

Bead ornaments have been handmade in the Krkonoše Mountains for over a hundred years. Before a bead, blown from a glass tube, reaches the finished ornament, it must pass through at least five pairs of skilled hands. The bead craft has a deep tradition in Poniklá and has been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020.
