Princess Rose - Christmas tree ornament

The princess-like-from-a-castle is one of our most complex decorations. It has exactly 20 types of beads and just stringing them into the right shape takes over an hour. But the rich skirt and golden hair are worth it.

The production of glass bead ornaments is a traditional craft of the Czech Republic. The ornament was handmade in Poniklá in the Krkonoše Mountains. The glass beads are silver-plated on the inside with real silver.

Bead ornaments have been handmade in the Krkonoše Mountains for over a hundred years. Before a bead, blown from a glass tube, reaches the finished ornament, it must pass through at least five pairs of skilled hands. The bead craft has a deep tradition in Poniklá and has been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020.
