A star in all directions

3D star from the "Stars in All Directions" collection. Porcelain white and silver bring a touch of winter. snow and ice. In the 3D star collection, we use the unique properties of glass beads strung on a solid wire, so the decorations look a bit like fireworks - simply in all directions.

The production of glass bead ornaments is a traditional craft of the Czech Republic. The ornament was handmade in Poniklá in the Krkonoše Mountains. The glass beads are silver-plated on the inside with real silver.

Bead ornaments have been handmade in the Krkonoše Mountains for over a hundred years. Before a bead, blown from a glass tube, reaches the finished ornament, it must pass through at least five pairs of skilled hands. The bead craft has a deep tradition in Poniklá and has been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020. Detailed information about the history and present of beadwork, including the possibility of excursions directly to the beadwork workshops in Poniklá, can be found at: www.rautis.cz
